<h2>Setting up ecoStrips for the first time</h2>
<ol>
<li>Go to <strong>Settings &rarr; Reading</strong> and increase the number of posts per page to something like 40.</li>
<li>Customize ecoStrips by going to <strong>ecoStrips settings</strong> in the WordPress administration area (This option can be found towards the end on the left panel in the administration area).</li>
<li>Goto <strong>Appearance &rarr; Widgets</strong> in the WordPress administration panel and add the widgets you want by dragging and dropping them to the <strong>Headerbar</strong> and <strong>Footerbar</strong> blocks. Don&#8217;t forget the bundled <strong>Post filter</strong> plugin.</li>
<li>Similarly, fill up the <strong>Right Sidebar</strong> and <strong>Footerbar</strong> areas with other widgets you want.</li>
</ol>
<h2>Publishing images</h2>
<p>ecoStrips depends on WordPress&#8217; post thumbnail feature which was introduced in version 2.9. Hence, ecoStrips needs WordPress 2.9 and above to work. </p>
<ol>
<li>Write your post title and body. WordPress doesn&#8217;t let you choose a post thumbnail (explained in the next step) unless this is done.</li>
<li>On the right side of the post page, you have your standard option boxes (Publish, Post Tags, Categories) etc. When ecoStrips is active, you should see a new option box titled <strong>Set featured image</strong> below all the option boxes (You might find it convenient to drag it and put it right below the <strong>Publish</strong> option box). Click on the <strong><em>Set thumbnail</em></strong></li>
<li>The standard image/file manager pops up. Click on the <em>Show</em> link beside the image you want (In the <strong>Media Library</strong> tab if you have already uploaded). When the selected image&#8217;s options show up, click on the <strong><em>Use as featured image</em></strong> link.

<h2>Setting up ecoPhoto2 for the first time</h2>

<li>Go to <strong>Settings &rarr; Reading</strong> and choose <em>A static page</em> option, and a static page you have created as your <em>Frong page:</em>. A static page is simply a page with some text. For instance, create a page called &#8216;Homepage&#8217; by going to the <strong>Pages</strong> menu and entering some text. Similarly, create a page called &#8216;Blog&#8217;. In <strong>Settings &rarr; Reading</strong>, choose your &#8216;Homepage&#8217; and &#8216;Blog&#8217; page for the <em>Front page</em> and <em>Posts page</em> options respectively.</li>
<li>Customize ecoPhoto2 by going to <strong>ecoPhoto2 settings</strong> in the WordPress administration area (This option can be found towards the end on the left panel in the administration area).</li>
<li>Goto <strong>Appearance &rarr; Widgets</strong> in the WordPress administration panel and add the widgets you want by dragging and dropping them to the <strong>Right Sidebar</strong> and <strong>Footerbar</strong> blocks. Don&#8217;t forget the bundled <strong>iDesignEco Social Widget</strong>!</li>
<li>Similarly, fill up the <strong>Right Sidebar</strong> and <strong>Footerbar</strong> areas with other widgets you want.</li>

<h2>Publishing images</h2>
<p>ecoPhoto2 depends on WordPress’ post thumbnail feature which was introduced in version 2.9. Hence, ecoPhoto2 needs WordPress 2.9 and above to work. </p>

<h2>Adding images to the homepage slideshow</h2>
<p>The recommended dimension for the homepage slideshow images is 1000&#215;400 pixels (width x height)</p>
<ol>
<li>Go to the <strong>Slideshow</strong> option in the WordPress admin menu. This should be right above the <strong>ecoStudio settings</strong> option.</li>
<li>Just like you would create a normal blog post, create a slideshow post and assign a featured image to it. This featured image will show up as the slideshow image on the homepage.</li>
